Seems everyone has an opinion on which stroller is the best. Really, stroller preference is a personal choice, but here are some guidelines that moms recommend:

1. Before getting a travel system, decide if you really need it. Most mothers use a travel system for the same amount of time that they use a Snap 'N Go, but at a much higher price. While the concept seems great, the weight and bulkiness of the travel systems cause many parents to bow out from using the stroller for long. Many sturdy strollers are infant carrier compatible and will last through your child's third year. Several of these strollers are on the top 10 list (Zooper, Peg Perego, Inglesina, and the Maclaren Quest).

2. Consider the weight of the stroller. It may not seem heavy at a store, but think about lifting that stroller in and out of your car several times a day, and an extra two pounds becomes a major deal. Umbrella strollers are very light, but not necessarily the best choice for a newborn, and generally, a stroller weighing more than 18 pounds will be a bit much for the average mom.

3. Look at the 'extras' included on a stroller. Some parents want a snack/ toy tray up front, and for others it is not necessary. Most mothers report that a cup holder on the handlebars as well as a way to carry a diaper bag are huge benefits to certain strollers. Finally, if you are going to use a sun guard or rain shield consider purchasing a stroller that includes these items rather than having to pay extra for each item. These items can add up.

4. Try a stroller out to assess whether the height is acceptable for you and your husband and if it is easy to push. Some strollers look great, but are very hard to maneuver.

5. Practice folding and unfolding a stroller to make sure you are comfortable with it. The first few folds of any stroller may be rough, but if you continue to feel frustrated, then the stroller is not for you.

6. The hands down favorite jogging stroller is the BOB Revolution. It is very easy to navigate and is a smooth ride for both the parent and the child. The swivel wheel helps those non jogging parents who still like to power walk or use a jogging stroller to get around town.
